New Top 10 List: Top Ten Characters Who Remind Me Of Myself Or Someone I Know

It's a top 10 kind of day! I heart books!

Check out my Top Ten Characters Who Remind Me Of Myself Or Someone I Know  on my blog Writer Girl in LA! It's an internet meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and I try to participate every Tuesday!

Here's a sneak peak at my top 3.....

1. Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maude Montgomery: Anne reminds me a little of me...in that she loves books and loves to read and she's a writer! We have a lot of differences of course too - I don't have red hair, nobody has ever called me carrots, and I do not talk a lot. I swear.

2. Mia Thermopolis from The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot: I sooooo think like Mia and feel awkward (especially around cute boys when I was in high school!)! That's why I love those books so much now! Mia's a version of me...except I haven't been made a princess...yet.

3. Meg Murry from A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle: Yup, another self conscious high school student...just like I was! What I loved about Meg, though, when I first read this book is that she had the little brother I always wanted in Charles Wallace. A little wish fulfillment on my part!

New Top 10 List: Top Ten Books To Be Read

Yes, I like to read too!

Check out my Top Ten Books To Be Read List for this summer on my blog Writer Girl in LA! It's an internet meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Here's a sneak peak.....

1. Ransom My Heart by Meg Cabot - I'm reading this one now. Who doesn't love Meg Cabot and a little bit of romance!

2. The Host by Stephanie Meyer - It's been on my list forever and sounds like a good summer read!

3. The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - I started reading it, but I want to finish it up. I like vampires! I'd also love to read her Iron Fey series. So, yeah this is really 3 and 3.5 on the list, I guess!

Sixteen year old Kait Lenox has a reputation as the weird girl in her high school, mostly because of her ex-best friend turned mean popular girl, Ariel, but maybe it has a little to do with the fact that Kait has a hobby crashing funerals. At one of these, Kait is outted by the most popular guy in school, Ethan Ripley. Yet, instead of humiliating her for all the world to see, he asks for her help, and Kait finds herself entangled in a murder mystery. Not only is the thrill of the mystery exciting, but more importantly Ethan knows her name! A little sleuthing is well worth that!
