New Release! Adventures of a New Year's Kiss!

Adventures of a New Year's Kiss is available now on Amazon Kindle.
Happy early New Year 2015! Adventures of a New Year's Kiss is available now on Amazon Kindle (and Amazon Unlimited)

2015 is going to rock and there will be tons more Funeral Crashing this coming year! I'm wrapping up Funeral Crashing #4 now...and if you read this whole blog, you'll even notice that I've given you the title...

Adventures of a New Year's Kiss is a Funeral Crashing story following Suzie Whitsett. It can be read as a standalone, although in the series it takes place between books 3 and 4, making it Funeral Crashing #3.5.

Here's a little bit about the book:

Suzie Whitsett loves Kyle Jones and when he gives her an amazing necklace for their two month anniversary, she is over the moon. Twenty-four hours later, it's gone and Suzie has to find out who took it before everything she has with Kyle falls apart right before New Year's...and their first New Year's kiss.

Attention Funeral Crashing Fans! Make sure to check out the BONUS SCENE at the end of the book that details Kait and Ethan's New Year's Kiss!

Like I mentioned above, although the characters from the Funeral Crashing Series make an appearance in this novella, it is a standalone cozy romantic mystery story featuring Suzie Whitsett.

The Funeral Crashing Series:
#1 - Adventures in Funeral Crashing
#2 - Adventures of a Graveyard Girl
#3 - Adventures in Murder Chasing
#4 - Adventures in Homicide and Heartbreak

Funeral Crashing Standalones (Featuring other Funeral Crashing Characters):
Adventures of a New Year's Kiss (Funeral Crashing #3.5 featuring Suzie Whitsett)

Ethan Tells All Stories (Told From Ethan Ripley's POV):
#1 - Adventures in Double Dating: Ethan Tells The Adventures in Funeral Crashing Double Date Scene

A note to fans of the Funeral Crashing series who are not on my mailing list yet - join it! You'll get the Ethan Tells All stories for FREE if you're on the list WHEN I send them out!!! Otherwise, I will be selling them online.

Crashing Prom Release Day & Movie Cast Ideas!

Crashing Prom is available for Amazon Kindle now!

Today is the release day for CRASHING PROM on Amazon Kindle! So excited! I love release day!

Here's a little about the book:

Avery Rylee never went to her high school prom. It is one of her biggest life regrets. Now, at the age of twenty-four, Avery has many more regrets. She is stuck in a rut with her career and she has just been dumped by her fiance. After a night of cheap wine and hitting rock bottom, all Avery wants to do is lie in bed at home with a gallon of ice cream, but her three best friends have other ideas. They have planned a cross country road trip to a prom to help Avery start over. Step one is an Ex-Bachelorette Party in Vegas to help Avery try and forget her ex-fiance. Instead of forgetting him, though Avery finds herself the star of her own web series. As a result, she goes on a filmed hunt across America to find a prom dress, a hot date, and a pair of amazing shoes. Will Avery be able to heal her heartbreak, survive internet reality show fame, and have the perfect prom?

Whenever I write a book I always think about who I'd want to play the characters in a movie. So, here are my ideal movie cast ideas for CRASHING PROM!

IDEAL MOVIE CAST:

For AVERY, I'd pick Emma Stone. She's got great comedic timing and is such a funny, talented actress.

Emma Stone as Avery.

For VIVI, I'd pick Zooey Deschanel. She's super quirky and I love her energy. Vivi needs to be played by someone with a great energy about them. Vivi is someone that is always on! I also considered Zooey for the part of Avery because of her comedic background in The New Girl.

Zoey Deschanel as Vivi.

For TESS, I'd pick Trojan Bellisario. She plays the more studious type on Pretty Little Liars and Tess is a workaholic...

Trojan Bellisarion as Tess.

For MIA, I'd pick Gina Rodriguez. I love her on Jane the Virgin. She has a sweetness about her and that's how I see Mia.

Gina Rodriguez as Mia.

For FLYNN, I was thinking Dave Franco. He's cute.

Dave Franco as Flynn.

For LUCAS, I'd pick Nicholas Hoult. He has the most amazing eyes and smile. Plus he was great and funny in Warm Bodies.

Nicholas Hoult as Lucas.
Who would you like to see play the characters in a movie? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Check back this weekend for some more posts! And don't forget to enter the giveaway for a signed paperback of Crashing Prom on goodreads (see the link below to a previous blog!).

Crashing Prom Excerpt & Giveaway!

Crashing Prom is available for pre-order now!
CRASHING  PROM release week continues! It will be officially released this Friday, November 7, 2014! In today's blog I'll post an excerpt and tell you about a signed paperback giveaway of Crashing Prom!

First, the Crashing Prom EXCERPT:

Josh Evans was my ideal prom date. He was standing about ten feet away from me at his locker. It was now or never. There was only a month left until prom and if I didn't ask him now, he'd ask someone else first. I suppose it was also possible that some other brave girl might ask him too. I had to do this now especially since I was pretty sure that there was no way that Josh was going to ask me to the prom. At least, I didn't think so. I really wasn't on his radar. Sure, we had one class together, English, but the only time we ever actually talked was when we were put into a group together to work on a project.
The last time we were in a group together was a month ago for the Shakespeare section. We were reading Romeo and Juliet. The group picked Josh for Romeo, but I wasn't the lucky Juliet. That coveted role fell to Kerri Penn. I was totally jealous at first, but it turned out that she was a great actress. She really pulled the scene off unlike Josh, who turned out to be terrible. We got our B grade because of Kerri. Josh seriously couldn't act at all. It sounded like he was reading from the book for the first time even though he'd memorized his lines. Still, even Josh was a better actor than the other guy in our group, Ben Turner. I ended up helping direct the scene with Kate Yearly. I preferred staying offstage. Attention centered on me like that freaked me out. Still, it would have been perfect being Josh's Juliet. I would have gladly braved the stage for him.
I suppose that was still a missed opportunity for me. I could have spent time talking to Josh during that project, but I didn't. The problem was that I wasn't great at flirting. Other girls could flip their hair, giggle, and smile, but on me it came off as totally awkward and fake. I was the smart girl, at least in English, and my nose was always in a book instead of talking to the cute guy. In this case, I spent the whole time working on the directing instead of flirting. I doubt Josh even noticed me as a girl. I hated that about myself. I wanted to be better at the girly stuff, but I just wasn't. I felt weird and guys just didn't seem to look at me like that.
Sure, I wasn't popular, but I wasn't unpopular either. I was somewhere in the middle. I had plenty of friends, but no boyfriend. Still, all of my friends already had their prom dates. I was stuck going stag if I didn't find a date, although if that happened I was pretty sure that I'd rather not go at all. All of my friends didn't understand why I hadn't found a date yet. Prom was a month away. I thought I had time. I had only just realized that my time was running out if I wanted to go with my ideal prom date.
I watched Josh from my locker where I'd been watching him since the beginning of the year. I wasn't watching him in a creepy way. I just thought he was gorgeous and he was nice eye candy to spy on from my locker. It was ridiculous, but it totally made my day to just see him even if it was from afar.
I'd known him since we were in grade school, but somewhere within the last year, Josh had gotten super hot. He had brown hair that was a little long, really awesome blue eyes, and a body that had gotten really toned and tan since he'd joined the track team. I so wanted him to ask me out. The problem was that Josh hadn't asked me out and prom was in a month, so if I wanted to go with him...
I looked at the clock on the wall that signaled the time to get to class for the students. There was about five minutes before the first bell rang and it was now or never.

CRASHING PROM Release Week Begins!

Crashing Prom is available now for pre-order on Amazon Kindle!

My latest book CRASHING PROM will be released this Friday - November 7, 2014. Yay!!!! It's very exciting! I always love releasing a new book!

This book is something a little different for me. There is no mystery, sci-fi, or paranormal in it. Crashing Prom is just a fun, silly, romance book, although it's also about friendship. The main character is in her early twenties instead of in high school. Technically, Crashing Prom is a NA (New Adult) chicklit contemporary romance book and a new genre for me. Yay, new adventures!

Here's the book blurb for a little more detail about the novel:

Avery Rylee never went to her high school prom. It is one of her biggest life regrets. Now, at the age of twenty-four, Avery has many more regrets. She is stuck in a rut with her career and she has just been dumped by her fiance. After a night of cheap wine and hitting rock bottom, all Avery wants to do is lie in bed at home with a gallon of ice cream, but her three best friends have other ideas. CRASHING PROM Pre-Order for Amazon Kindle and the Cover Reveal!

Crashing Prom is now available for pre-order on Amazon Kindle.

My latest book CRASHING PROM will be available on November 7, 2014 on Amazon Kindle. Luckily, you can pre-order Crashing Prom now and get it that day! It will only be available on Amazon for 90 days in ebook format. I'm trying out Kindle Unlimited, but I'll be releasing the paperback that day as well.

And I know there will be some confusion, but it is not a Funeral Crashing book (those always start with Adventures in...). More Funeral Crashing is coming soon, though! I'm working on book #4 now! In the meantime you may want to check out this post if you are interested in those books! Crashing Prom, though, is a completely different book - a NA chicklit romance. No mystery, just a super fun read!

Here's what it's about:

If you like Sophie Kinsella, Meg Cabot, Lindsey Kelk, and chicklit books check out this latest NA chicklit romance...

As a result, she goes on a filmed hunt across America to find a prom dress, a hot date, and a pair of amazing shoes. Will Avery be able to heal her heartbreak, survive internet reality show fame, and have the perfect prom?

As the release date nears I'll be revealing more about the book including excerpts, movie cast ideas, and I'll probably even giveaway a few copies! Check back or follow me on Facebook or Twitter to get updates.

And, by the way, for all of you waiting - I am starting to write Funeral Crashing #4 this month! I'm really excited about it!!!!!

In the meantime, want a sneak peak of the Ethan Point of View scene?

**SPOILER ALERT: if you haven't read Funeral Crashing #1 yet, bookmark this page and read it later!!!!!**

Here's the first part....

Kait looked amazing. I knew I should decide what I was eating, but I couldn't focus on the menu in front of me. I couldn't stop looking at her. Why did she look amazing for Troy? He might be a serial killer.  She should have worn something more homely so he wouldn't be interested in her. How could she be wearing the sexiest dress I had ever seen for him? She was usually in jeans and a T-shirt or a conservative black dress. Why had she dressed up? It was just The Burger. I had to make sure Troy didn't get too close to her. I knew he'd want to. She looked beautiful. I had to protect her. She couldn't end up like Liz.
I glanced at Kait. She seemed absorbed in her menu. I willed her to look up, but she didn't. I wanted her green eyes to meet mine more than anything. Maybe I could convince her to stand Troy up. Seriously, what was so interesting about the milkshakes? I had to get her attention. Why was I suddenly tongue-tied?
Before I could get the words out, Troy was sliding into the booth next to her while checking her out. "Hey, Kait. You look awesome!"
I squeezed my hand into a fist. I wanted to grab Kait and leave, but I knew she'd never come with me now that Troy had arrived. I had missed my chance to whisk her away. Now I had to make it through this ridiculous double date. I tried to comfort myself with the thought that maybe we'd learn something more about Liz's murder, but it didn't help much. I was more anxious for Kait's safety. I wished I was the one sitting next to her.
“Thanks,” Kait said smiling back at Troy. “Oh, and this is Ethan.”
I couldn't look away from her smile. Why hadn't I noticed what a nice smile she had? Wait. She was smiling at Troy like that? Troy turned to look at me. I tried to make my face blank. I took a deep breath. If we had to do this we should do it right. It would only be worth it if we learned something about what happened to Liz. I focused on that and not what I hoped wasn't a lovesick look on Kait's face. She didn't like Troy did she? No. It had to be an act. I could act too.
I smiled as warmly as I could, "Hey, man."
"Ethan!" a girl squealed and I almost broke my smile.

But wait, there's more! To read the rest... sign up for the newsletter!!!!!  I won't spam, etc. I'll only send out emails with fun stuff like extra scenes, contests, freebies, book releases, and ARC news!

Okay. On my next blog post....

Doppelganger 2: On the Run release weekend is coming to a close! It's now at its official price of $2.99. Here are the ebook buy links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iTunes | Smashwords | and more!

Don't have the cash? Well, don't worry, you can still win it. Just enter the GIVEAWAY at the bottom of this blog to win both ebooks of Doppelganger 1 & 2! Just a reminder that international is okay and if you already bought the books and you win...I'll send you a gift card for the amount of the books (and you can buy something else!). Also make sure to check my website/twitter/facebook regularly for more giveaways, freebies, and deals!

For those of you here to find out more about the Doppelgangers series because you just raced your way through book #2...I know you must have one big question like:

When does Doppelganger 3 come out?!?!?!!?!

I actually don't have a for-sure date yet (mostly because I can never exactly tell how long it will take me to write a book and the Doppelganger series has taken me longer than some), but I'm shooting for the end of 2014. I've got a general outline and a few chapters started (because who could stop writing just after that ending!).

Still, I'm actually going to have a few books out before Doppelganger 3. First, there will be a Funeral Crashing Box Set (books 1-3) out at the end of July. I'll post release dates soon. It's going to have a few extra scenes from Ethan's POV. I'll be doing the same for a Doppelganger Box Set once all three books are written FYI. Then in August I'm hoping to release a NA chicklit book that I'm currently calling Crashing Prom. It's something I started a few years ago as a 3 Day Novel and I am just developing it a little more and fleshing out the characters. It's similar in style (fun, romance, in your head talk) to the Funeral Crashing and Doppelganger novels, but there's no mystery or paranormal. It's just a story about a girl who always regretted not going to her senior prom...and it's a really fun book! After that I'm hoping to release Funeral Crashing 4 in the fall. I'm outlining it right now and working on the mystery. I already know what happens to Kait & Ethan in the 6 books I have planned (and there might be more if people keep reading them!) and there will be big things going on between them in book 4!!!! Doppelganger 3 will come out after that and it should be the last book in the series. There's so much to write, though, that I'm feeling a little worried...might it be two books more? If it's only one, it's going to be a long one! And as the final book, all will be revealed! Who are the doppelgangers? Who will Citrus choose? Will the doppelgangers take over? It's going to be an action packed, romance filled, suspenseful ending to the series! I'm hoping to write it in the early fall. Fingers crossed.

Any theories you'd like to share about the Doppelgangers series? It's always fun to hear what readers think!

I'm also excited to note that this morning on Amazon, Doppelganger 2: On the Run was doing great! Woo-hoo!
If you bought the book this weekend - you rock!!!!! And please, please, please write reviews! They really help authors spread the word about their books and give readers an idea of what to expect! It's the best way to give back to the authors you love!

International entrants are welcome as long as you can receive ebooks by email!

For those of you that have only read my Funeral Crashing books, here's what The Doppelgangers series is about:

DOPPELGANGER

Citrus Leahy is having a really bad day. First she's late to school. Then she runs into the girl who drives her nuts because she always calls her Orange instead of her name. To cap it all off, when Citrus finally makes it to class, she sees herself already inside. Wait. What? Citrus Leahy has a doppelganger! It's probably aliens taking over the world and her life has just turned totally upside down. Goodbye, normal. Hello, paranormal! Luckily, her crush Aedan has the exact same problem!

DOPPELGANGER 2: On the Run (Spoiler alert for those of you who haven't read book #1)

The doppelgangers are coming!

Citrus Leahy is on the run from doppelgangers! Now she and a group of teenagers whose lives have also been taken over have to figure out how to stay hidden.
